In collaboration with local school districts, employers, business organizations, and the YES Operating Partnership, the YES certificate program is now available to seniors at Dallastown High School !

The YES certificate program helps students develop the fundamental skills employers require to maintain a well-trained work force.  It addresses key employability issues and offers participants a pathway to secure a rewarding future.

 
YES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM BENEFITS
  • Students possess the Employability Skills employers require for a highly skilled work force.
  • Students are recognized as “preferred applicants” by many employers in several regions of Pennsylvania .
  • Students are “preferred” when applying for both post secondary educational and employer sponsored training programs.
  • Certificate topics are covered using practical applications, proving a solid “foundation” for students when they are ready to enter the work force.
  • Students can receive high school credit and the YES Certificate.
  • The program is endorsed by hundreds of regional employers from virtually every sector of the economy.
  • The program is a proven and very successful partnership between Education and Employers.
 
 
During the school year, students will cover the following topics in the YES course:
  • Business Communications
  • Teamwork on the Job
  • Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Personal Development for Business Success
  • Technology on the Job
  • Quality at Work
  • Student Field Trips
 
 
By taking the course, the students will earn 1 credit and gain valuable experience that will help them succeed in the world of work.  The students may also pursue the YES Certificate.  In order to receive the YES Certificate, the students must complete the following (besides taking the course):
  • Successfully complete all course requirements with at least a "B" average.
  • Have a 95% attendance record during the school year.
