Services Provided to Students

The Social Studies department at
Dallastown offers a variety of services to our students:

 

    • Student preparation for Ethical Decision Making Day Program

    • Collaboration with the Guidance Department for student scheduling

    • A variety of public and community speakers

    • Field trips as an extension of the classroom

    • Visitations by post-secondary educational representatives

    • An after-school History Club open to all students

    • Community service credit through our Local History program

    • An after-school Discussion Club open to all students

    • An after-school International Club open to all students

    • Law Day speakers and essay contest

    • Participation in the local Citizenship Bee

    • Representatives at the National Youth Leadership Conferences

    • Involvement in simulations conducted through Penn St. University

    • Model U.N. Activities

    • Model Pa. State Legislator Activities

    • Meet your Legislator Program

    • The Penn State University Government/Community Symposium

    • Student volunteer election campaign activities

    • Registering students to vote

    • Extensive use of the writing center and computer program activities for student instruction
