2019 Senior Class End of Year Information


PROM – Saturday, April 27, 2019 – WISEHAVEN EVENT CENTER

  • Prom is from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Dinner stations will begin at 5:00 p.m.
  • Students may provide their own transportation to and from the venue. They must arrive by 5:45 p.m., or they will not be able to enter the dance, and no refunds will be given. Students may leave prior to 10:00 if they choose. Once students leave, they will not be able to return.
  • You do not need to bring a ticket with you for PROM. 
  • The attire for this evening will be formal wear; however, a dress suit, including a tie, is acceptable.
  • You and your date must have school ID or driver’s license with you when entering the dance for check-in.
  • All school rules apply while at prom. 
  • Please remember that shoes must be worn at all times.  If you want to bring comfortable shoes/flip-flops for dancing, you are welcome to do so. You will not be able to be on the dance floor in bare feet.
  • Professional photographs will be taken at Wisehaven; photo order forms will be provided when purchasing your tickets.
  • Tickets will be sold from April 5-April 18 in the mornings from 7:10 a.m. – 7:30 a.m., at lunch, during Wildcat Period (2:20-2:50), and after school until 3:00 p.m. in room 324.  Tickets will also be sold in room 320 during period 5 from 1:00-1:30 only. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD BETWEEN PERIODS OR AFTER 3:00 ON THURSDAY, APRIL 18!  NO EXCEPTIONS!  Tickets are $60 each ($120 for two) and may be purchased with cash or checks made payable to DAHS; a fee of $25 will be charged for a bounced check.
  • Seniors are also required to have met all outstanding obligations as well as completed the culminating portfolio in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket.  Any senior who has not yet completed the portfolio or has not met the outstanding obligation will not be sold a ticket until all requirements have been fulfilled and senior class advisors are notified by the appropriate person.
  • Completed guest forms (students from other schools only) must be submitted when purchasing a ticket. Forms are in the main office.  A limited number of forms will be available so do not wait to get your guest form!  NO GUEST FORM = NO TICKET!! Guests CANNOT be over the age of 20!  There will be no exceptions to this rule.
  • If you have specific dietary restrictions, please be sure to notify us at the time the ticket is purchased

After Prom Party

  • All seniors are free and are permitted to invite one guest.  All guests must be signed up and must pay $25 to attend the party.  Seniors can sign up and pay for their guests during prom ticket sales IF A PARENT REPRESENTATIVE IS PRESENT. You should sign guests up at this time even if you are not purchasing prom tickets. You must pay for your guest when you sign them up. If you are not bringing a guest, you only need to submit a permission slip to attend.
  • You do not have to attend prom in order to attend the all-night party.
  • The party will be held from 11:30 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. with doors opening at 10:30. Food, games, and prizes will be available the entire time. Students must be present at the party in order to win prizes.  There will be lots of games, entertainment, and fun!
  • Students will be locked in for the duration of the party and will not be able to leave prior to 5:00 a.m.
  • Permission slips will be handed out at the end of this meeting (page 2 of Post Prom Party Packet) and must be submitted NO LATER THAN APRIL 18. Seniors can return the signed permission slip during prom ticket sales (outside of room 324) IF A PARENT REPRESENTATIVE IS PRESENT. If you are not bringing a guest, you may turn in your permission slip to the box outside of Mrs. Turnbull’s room (room 324).
  • Students will be NOT permitted to come to the party that not without having pre-registered.


  • Baccalaureate will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the high school auditorium.
  • The service will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Class members will be seated with their friends and family.
  • Seniors are asked to wear their gowns.  (No caps)


Senior Awards Ceremony

  • The senior awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the high school auditorium, following the Baccalaureate Service.
  • The program will begin at approximately 3:00 p.m.
  • Seniors who are not attending the Baccalaureate Service should report by 2:45 p.m. for the senior awards ceremony.
  • Recipients of awards will be notified prior to the program, but all are welcome to attend.
  • Students do not need to wear gowns for this ceremony. 

Senior Class Trip to Hershey Park

  • This year’s trip will be a day trip to Hershey Park on Friday, May 31, 2019
  • Seniors will report to school in the morning and then board the buses for Hershey at approximately 8:45. The students will return to Dallastown around 8:00 p.m. Students who choose not to attend the class trip are expected to be present in school.
  • Students will be responsible for bringing their own spending money for snacks/lunch in the park.
  • Seniors attending the class trip MUST ride the bus to and from Hershey Park.
  • Any senior who purchased a ticket but cannot attend the day of the trip will receive his/her ticket on Monday, June 3 at the end of practice. 
  • Tickets have already been sold, but any senior interested in attending the trip could purchase a ticket on his/her own but will need to pay a $15 transportation fee and complete a permission slip. Please see Mrs. French or Mrs. Turnbull if you are interested in this.

Graduation Practices and Graduation

  • Graduation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Caps and gowns will be distributed when the senior announcements are distributed. 
  • The graduation ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m., but seniors will need to meet in the gym and be in their assigned seats by 5:15 p.m. 
  • All seniors must attend the required graduation practices on Monday, June 3rd; Tuesday, June 4th; and Wednesday, June 5th.  All seniors must report to school by 7:35 a.m. each of those three days; attendance will be taken.
  • On Wednesday, June 5th the seniors will have a formal group photo taken. Seniors need to bring cap and gown to practice this day. This is a requirement! If you do not have your cap and gown, you will not be in the picture.  This picture is 8x12 and costs $14 and will be included in the graduation packet, which is picked up after graduation for any student who purchases this photo.
  • There will also be an opportunity to purchase an individual diploma picture, which will be taken in the afternoon on Thursday, May 30Students must have caps and gowns and dress in graduation attire for the picture. This means the attire that will be worn under the gowns during the ceremony. This diploma picture is 5x7 and costs $8.  It will be mailed home to any student who purchases this photo. Order forms for the picture were distributed to the seniors during our April 2 meeting.  Additional envelopes can be picked up in the main office. Envelopes are due by Monday, May 27 and should be placed in the box outside of room 320.
  • All students must purchase a cap, gown and tassel for the ceremony.  This was already taken care of during a February meeting with Jostens.  If you have not ordered a cap and gown at this time, you must contact Jostens immediately at www.jostens.com.  Look in the drop down menu for Dallastown High School. The cost of a cap, gown, and tassel is $28.30 + tax = $30.00.
  • No jeans, sneakers, or flip-flops are permitted for the ceremony.  Males should wear a light-colored dress shirt with a tie.  Females should be aware that their graduation gowns are white and that dark clothing may show through the gown.  High-heeled shoes are NOT PERMITTED for graduation; seniors may wear flats or wedge shoes only.
  • If the weather on Wednesday does not permit outside activities, the program will be moved to an inside location, and all attendees for the indoor ceremony must have a ticket.  Tickets will be distributed after graduation practice on June 5th.  Each senior will receive three tickets.  No additional tickets are available
  • If graduation is held outdoors, no tickets are needed, and seating in the stadium is on a first-come basis.  The gates to the stadium will open at 4:30 p.m. 
  • Special reserved seating for guests who are unable to climb stairs can be arranged by contacting Mrs. Ohl in the main office at patricia.ohl@dallastown.net or 244-4021 ext. 3565. You may request reserved seating tickets (up to 4 tickets) beginning on Monday, May 13th but no later than Friday, May 31st
  • After commencement, all graduates should report to the high school stage to pick up a packet containing a diploma and other awards.
