Dallastown Area High School teacher Lindsey Wolfe and paraprofessional Paula Sunday have been awarded the Educator of the Year award from the York Area Down Syndrome Association (YADSA). The family of Kira Miller, a recent graduate of DAHS, nominated Miss Wolfe and Mrs. Sunday.

“Mrs. Sunday and Miss Wolfe ensure all students they work with have opportunities to participate alongside peers in activities, both instructional and non-instructional and work hard to help them reach their full potential,” said the family. “They promote confidence in their students, which leads them to be successful. They ensure these students are involved in all aspects of school and that their peers have opportunities to get to know them,” they added.

“This award means to me that I am making a positive impact in my students' lives. I am very passionate about teaching and my students and I love watching them grow, succeed, build relationships inside and outside of the classroom, and love to learn. In turn, they are always teaching me why I continue to love my job,” said Miss Wolfe.

“I feel honored to receive this award because the parents recognize the commitment we’ve put into their child’s future to help them be successful after high school,” said Mrs. Sunday.
